Remember the special
Zooberts sounds
and why you really
need them around!
“Hearing our son say, ‘I can read grown-up
books now!’,
has made us very proud. He is actually interested in what he is doing now because he can do it on his own. He is definitely much happier!”

Meet the Zooberts Short Vowel Families and Mascots
Each vowel family is unique and kooky. Each has many favourites, especially its own favourite colour, chosen because it contains the
family’s short vowel sound.
The stories are told in rhyme by the family mascot. These factors combine with humour and fun-loving illustrations to encourage and
entice the READER to read. In fact, reading successfully happens very quickly and before long the
READER masters the short vowel sound
being taught!
Each family is very unique and silly. Each family has many favourites, based on its short vowel sound. Read on to see what colour makes
each family unique.

The A Family
Vowels have a long sound and a
short sound. Long vowel sounds are easier for the READER to hear because long vowels say their own

alligator.
The A Book is narrated by Zooberts A family mascot,
Ally Al, the alligator. Since the word
amber has the short A sound, each time the
READER comes to a word with a short A sound, the sound will appear as an
amber coloured A. Ally
